Academic Faculties and Departments - TSV

Faculties and departments are the fundamental organizational units for education and research activities in universities. According to the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) standards, university faculties are classified into 11 major categories: Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Health Sciences, Maritime Sciences, Home Economics, Education, Arts, and Others. Each faculty is further subdivided into multiple departments, where students deepen their expertise after enrollment. Universities worldwide use various terms such as 'Faculty,' 'College,' and 'School,' with organizational structures varying by region and institution.
