Types of healthcare professionals include medical and therapeutic professionals such as doctors, nurses, and pharmacists; rehabilitation professionals such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language-hearing therapists; medical technology professionals such as clinical laboratory technicians and radiological technologists; dental professionals such as dentists and dental hygienists; massage and acupuncture professionals such as anma massage shiatsu practitioners and acupuncturists; specialized professionals such as emergency medical technicians and registered dietitians; and welfare professionals such as care workers and certified social workers. These qualifications are national qualifications administered by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and each professional contributes to the health and medical care of the nation with specialized knowledge and skills.
