Types of Japanese Martial Arts - Markdown
Japanese martial arts (Budo) are traditional physical cultures aimed at training the mind and body as well as spiritual cultivation. There are various types including Judo, Kendo, Karate, Aikido, Kyudo, Iaido, and Naginata, each with its own technical system and philosophy. According to the Ministry of Education's curriculum guidelines, one of Judo, Kendo, or Sumo is designated as a compulsory subject in junior high school physical education, occupying an important position in Japanese school education.
