Mountaineering Difficulty Levels - TSV
Mountaineering Difficulty Levels is a standard Japanese classification system that evaluates climbing routes using two axes: physical fitness level and technical difficulty. The physical level is calculated from 1-10 based on standard course time and elevation gain, while technical difficulty is represented by letters A-E indicating trail conditions and hazards. This system enables objective difficulty assessment beyond traditional subjective classifications of beginner, intermediate, and advanced, allowing climbers to choose routes appropriate to their abilities.
