Types of Performing Arts - TSV
The types of performing arts encompass a wide range of classifications from classical Japanese theater forms such as Noh, Kyogen, Kabuki, Bunraku, and Rakugo to modern stage arts including drama, musicals, opera, and ballet. Noh and Kyogen together are called 'Nohgaku' and were registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2008. These art forms are preserved as Japan's cultural heritage and continue to be performed and taught at venues such as the National Theatre and New National Theatre.
