Types of Protected Areas in Japan - TOML

Japan's nature conservation system establishes various protected areas based on multiple laws including the Natural Parks Law, the Wildlife Protection and Management Law, and the Nature Conservation Law. National Parks and Quasi-National Parks aim to balance natural landscape protection with public use, Wildlife Protection Areas focus on protecting wild birds and animals, and Nature Conservation Areas (Wilderness Areas and Nature Conservation Areas) aim to preserve pristine natural environments.
