環境NGO・NPOは、環境保護、自然保全、生物多様性の維持、気候変動対策などを目的として活動する非政府組織および非営利組織です。国際的なネットワークを持つ団体から国内に根ざした地域活動団体まで、様々な規模と活動領域を持つ団体が存在します。企業や政府からの独立性を保ちながら、科学的調査に基づいた活動、政策提言、啓発活動、フィールドでの保全活動などを通じて、持続可能な社会の実現に貢献しています。
