ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision)

ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision) is an international statistical classification system for diseases, injuries, causes of death, and health conditions developed by the World Health Organization (WHO). Adopted at the 43rd World Health Assembly in 1990, it consists of 21 chapters and uses alphanumeric codes (A00.0 to Z99.9) for classification. In Japan, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has published a Japanese version based on the 2013 edition, which is widely used for mortality statistics, morbidity statistics, medical billing, and clinical documentation.
