The Consumer Hotline is a nationwide telephone service (188) operated by the Consumer Affairs Agency to guide consumers to local consumer consultation services. By entering a postal code, callers are directed to the nearest municipal or prefectural consumer center. The service provides professional consultation on various consumer issues including fraudulent business practices, contract disputes, and product/service problems.
